Mark your calendars! East High School will host this year’s GBAPS Marching Band Showcase on Saturday, October 10, and we’re putting out the call for volunteers to help make the day run smoothly.

We need help throughout the day, from morning setup to concession sales to clean-up. If we can’t fill every spot, our student leadership team can step in, but the more parent volunteers we have, the less we’ll need to pull kids away from the event itself.

The highlighted slots on the sign-up sheet are our most urgent needs, so please take a look there first. Any proceeds we raise above cost from concessions go straight back to our Performing Arts Parent group, so every volunteer hour helps our program.

The Bigger Ask: Feeding the Showcase

Food at showcase is potluck style, and this year our group is responsible for providing the entree. That means feeding roughly 380 students and 20 adults.  If we go the pizza route, that’s about 100 pizzas.

We’re hoping to line up a local sponsor to help cover some or all of that cost. If you have a connection with a local restaurant or business that might be willing to donate food or sponsor the meal, please reach out to us! Every bit of local support helps keep costs down for our families.

Serving Is the Biggest Need

Since food is potluck style, the number one thing we’re short on is manpower for serving. If you’re willing to lend a hand serving food that day, please grab a slot on the sign-up sheet above.
